Plan Check’s Role: Peer Review, Code and Fire/Life Safety Review, Client Code Representation Plan Check Professionals has been an integral part of the devoted team of professionals making this project a reality since the Schematic Design Phase. We have been a trusted source of expertise and representation for our client . Working in collaborative fashion with the team from day one and utilizing Digital Plan Review throughout this multi-stage, multi building process, has expedited the process and kept it transparent for all stakeholders.
The North Torrey Pines Living and Learning Neighborhood is a 10-acre, LEED Platinum interdisciplinary environment blending academic, residential, commercial and cultural programming. The project realizes the university’s pioneering vision for a vibrant, barrier-breaking destination with housing for undergraduate students and staff, dining, new lecture halls, academic offices, community support, services, open spaces, connective pathways, and parking facility. This is the largest project in the history of the architecturally acclaimed campus and will include 2,000 student beds, 9000 SF of ground floor retail, and a new home for 6th College.
This new development includes multiple buildings and high-rise towers that will be designed for dormitory, assembly, and academic purposes:
Building 1: Lab/Workshops, classrooms, retail shops, offices, conference rooms, outdoor terraces, a computer lab, lounge areas and building support spaces. Building 2: Training rooms, a computer lab, classrooms, a bike repair shop, conference rooms, lecture halls, bike storage, study lounges, outdoor terraces, dormitory style residential units, kitchenette areas, laundry rooms and building support spaces.
Building 3: Dormitory style residential units, study lounges, bike storage, conference rooms, offices, kitchenette areas, laundry rooms, outdoor terraces and building support spaces.
Building 4: Dormitory style residential units, study lounges, bike storage, conference rooms, offices, kitchenette areas, laundry rooms, outdoor terraces and building support spaces.
Building 5: A coffee shop, maintenance office and shop space, a dining market with seating, a loading dock, a carpentry shop, a paint shop, offices, conference rooms, lecture halls, outdoor terraces, classrooms, art studios, a jewelry and flamework classroom, surfboard shaping areas, pottery classrooms (including throwing, glazing and firing spaces), classwork exhibit space, dormitory style residential units, study lounges, laundry rooms and building support spaces.
Building 6: A large lecture hall, pre-function space and building support spaces.
Building 7: Subterranean parking and building support spaces
