Location: California State University (CSU)

PC Associates is an authorized plan check firm for the California State University (CSU) system. CSU campuses are required to perform a Building Code Plan Check Review (Code Review) prior to new construction and/or renovation of existing facilities. All construction must comply with the 2010 California Building Code (CBC) as adopted by the Building Standards Commission (BSC). A campus may select any Office of the Chancellor approved plan check and/or access compliance review firm for their projects. Plan review firms are not assigned to specific campuses nor are they restricted to certain geographic areas.

In order to provide planet-friendly reviews, PDF copies plus half size hard copy sets of plans (quantity depends on project size), specifications and applicable calculations/reports are required for submittal. For FTP site uploading instructions, please email us at pca@pcassoc.com. Reports and marked up documents are provided in electronic format.

To service the plan review needs of the CSU campuses, PC Associates also offers the following additional plan reviews that can be performed concurrently with the Code Review:

  • Access Compliance Pre-Reviews

(Note: this review does not substitute for DSA or campus deputy building official certification.) Although DSA review and approval is required in most situations, an access compliance review by CSU plan check firms performed concurrently, but separately, from the DSA review does provide a knowledgeable opinion of access compliance and is useful for internal evaluation by the Office of the Chancellor. It also can shorten the time in achieving DSA approval in that the vast majority of corrections have already been made.

  • Constructability and Interdisciplinary Coordination Plan Reviews
  • Design Standards Plan Reviews
  • LEED Equivalent Plan Reviews
  • Peer Reviews

The Master Enabling Agreement does allow the addition of extra services listed above in conjunction with the primary Code Review.
